Plot day 2
November 13, 2013: Today was our second visit on the plot. There were some significant changes within the area as expected. Because of the cold weather, leaves had fallen off the trees and its litter was about 5 inches. There were no leaves left on any of the trees in our plot, which presented a challenge in identifying the trees. We had to identify the trees by using the bark of the trees, which made it a lot harder. There were also no organisms spotted anywhere because of the cold weather. I am anticipating that the next time we come, there will be a decrease of leaf litter because all the leaves have fallen and the soil will start decomposing. Overall, it was a much more successful visit than last time and we completed all that we needed to. I am looking forward to seeing the many changes the next time we visit. (Moss Rerkpattanapipat)
November 13, 2013: Today is our second visit on the pot and it is a cold day,our plot changed a lot. The leaves all fell off, except the white pines because they are ever-green. Because of this we identified those trees by looked at the bark of tree, and it also worked. And also I cannot see the mushroom that I saw last time. I took pictures for a bark and finished all the trees' s picture taking. The ground are all covered with falling leaves. I think next time, it will be more leaves on the ground and all the tree should be no leaves. Also I didn't see any organism this time. Overall, we did a great job during the second visit of the plot and I am expecting the third visit on our plot.

November 13,2013: On Wednesday November 13th my group and I went out to our plot. Because it is nearing towards winter it was absolutely freezing outside. The cold weather not only affected our group but it also affected our plot too. Unlike our last visit at the plot we were not greeted with green leafs and lots of organisms buzzing around. We were greeted with piles of dead leaves and bare trees. This wasn't really that surprising since in the winter trees tend to lose their leaves. As we completed our tasks we took a soil temperature test, a leaf litter height test, and a pH test. The soil temperature went down significantly from last time. In October the temperature was 60 degrees and now it’s 47 degrees. The leaf litter height also went up from 1.5 centimeters to 12.7. (Which makes sense because all of the trees lost their leaves) The only thing about our plot that didn't really change was the pH balance. (Morgan Morris)
